Season Two
It is learned in the second season by Ron Swanson that Wendy and Tom's marriage is a green-card marriage, and that she is from Canada. In "Tom's Divorce", she and Tom get a divorce. It is revealed after the divorce finalization that Tom has genuine feelings for Wendy, although he does not disclose them to her. He is encouraged by Leslie Knope and her then-boyfriend Justin Anderson to ask out Wendy. When Tom finally does, she turns him down, seeing him only as a friend. Tom then blackmails her by suing her for alimony unless she goes on a date with him. This does not go over well, so Tom finally relents, apologizes, and they part as friends. Ron expresses interest in dating Wendy after Tom and her's divorce. In the Season 2 finale "Freddy Spaghetti", Tom sees Wendy and Ron kissing.
