Paul Iaresco was the City Manager for Pawnee. He was Ron Swanson's superior. After his heart attack, he was replaced by Chris Traeger temporarily, but never returned to the job presumably due to retirement or death.

In the episode "Camping", Paul collapses at a press conference while congratulating Leslie Knope on the success of the Harvest Festival. While falling, he grabs her breasts, which Leslie described as "the second most awkward way a man has ever grabbed my breasts". He has had a heart attack, which required an octuple heart bypass. While he is recovering, Chris Traeger has taken over as city manager.
