Storyline[]
Season Two[]
In "Telethon", Tom is assigned to pick up retired basketball player Detlef Schrempf from the airport, the special guest for the Pawnee Cares diabetes telethon. With time to kill, Tom brings Detlef to The Snakehole Lounge, but the owner, Freddy, refuses to let him go because Detlef is bringing a lot of business, delaying Leslie's big headliner. Detlef and Tom finally arrive at the end of Leslie's programming block. Detlef presents a check for $5,000, allowing the telethon to bypass its $20,000 mark.
Season Three[]
In "Li'l Sebastian", Detlef is hired by Tom's new entertainment company to simply hang around the office and play basketball.
Season Four[]
In "Ron and Tammys", Ben Wyatt discovers that Tom and Jean-Ralphio Saperstein are wasting large amounts of money on a state-of-the-art office, giving employees high salaries with full benefits, and paying Detlef and Roy Hibbert to play basketball all day, despite having no income.
